What QFC and financial services firms need to get right

What tax does a QFC company pay?

QFC firms pay 10% tax on locally sourced profits under the QFC tax regime. They can be 100% foreign owned and repatriate profits in full.

What does a QFC firm file each year?

Audited financial statements, an annual return, beneficial ownership information when the QFC asks for it, and a QFC tax return within six months of year-end. Regulated firms also file the returns their licence requires.

Is the QFC better than MOCI for a consultancy?

For financial services, consultancies and technology firms that want full foreign ownership under a common-law framework, the QFC is often the better fit. A MOCI company suits businesses trading directly in the local market. The non-regulated QFC licence costs USD 5,000 a year for one activity, after a USD 500 application fee.
